John D Britton, FCA
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1976, and spending four years post-qualification with them, he was a founding partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants until 1987 when he sold his interest to move into financial/IT consultancy. He was appointed partnership secretary in 1989 to a major firm of Birmingham solicitors, which had a branch office in Gibraltar.
His links with this office, which incorporated a Trust and Company Management business, started then and carried on until 2005 at which time he was then asked by the owners to groom it for sale. In the meantime John had also been group financial director to a large independent company for some 10 years.
In 2007 the Gibraltar company was sold to an AIM listed offshore service provider of which he was a Director until December 2008. John was then appointed a Director of Corinthian Trust Company Limited in January 2010.
His expertise other than in offshore financial services is an appreciation of commercial transactions of an international nature and he enjoys working closely with clients who have challenging financial scenarios and requirements.
